Aged Parent VISA - Subclass 804 or Contributory
Aged Parent VISA - Subclasses 884/864
The Aged Parent Visa is for older parents of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizens to migrate to Australia.
The standard Aged Parent Visa is a permanent residence visa but can take a long time to be processed as applications are placed in a queue and limited numbers are granted.
Alternatively, parents can apply for a Contributory Aged Parent Visa (subclasses 884/864) and pay a higher application fee for two applications and a faster overall processing time.
The holder of a temporary visa (subclass 884) can apply for a permanent residence visa (subclass 864). The temporary visa enables the holder to live in Australia for up to two years.
The sponsoring child must have been resident in Australia for at least 2 years and at least half of the applicant’s children must be living as permanent residents in Australia.
All applicants must be aged over 65 years to apply for this visa.
The applicant for this visa must be outside Australia when the visa is granted and meet health and character requirements.
