The Child Visa enables a parent who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen to sponsor their child to live with him/her in Australia.
An application can be made for children who are already in Australia (subclass 802) or who are outside Australia (subclass 101).
The child must be single and either under 18 years of age, a full-time student aged between 18 and 25 years of age or unable to work due to a disability and dependent on the sponsoring parent.
The sponsoring parent must have full consent of all relevant people able to make decisions for the child, be complying with all relevant laws and orders relating to the child, meet character requirements and commit to supporting the child and settling the child in Australia.
