The Parent Visa is for parents of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizens to migrate to Australia.

The standard Parent Visa is a permanent residence visa but can take a long time to be processed as applications are placed in a queue and limited numbers are granted.

Alternatively, parents can apply for a Contributory Parent Visa (subclasses 173/143) and pay a higher application fee for two applications and a faster overall processing time.

The holder of a temporary Contributory Parent Visa (subclass 173) can apply for a permanent residence visa (subclass 143).  The temporary visa enables the holder to live in Australia for up to two years.

The sponsoring child must have been resident in Australia for at least two years and at least half of the applicant’s children must be living as permanent residents in Australia.

The applicant for this visa must be outside Australia when the visa is granted and meet health and character requirements.

Please contact us for further information or for assistance with your application for a Parent Visa – Subclass 103 or a Contributory Parent Visa – Subclasses 173/143.
